Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has today announced that the tender to build the new Cootamundra Ambulance Station has been awarded to The Patterson Group.
“I am thrilled to announce this significant milestone for the new Ambulance Station in Cootamundra.” Ms Cooke said.
“The Patterson Group have recently completed new Ambulance Stations in Bungendore and Goulburn and a construction start date for Cootamundra will be announced very shortly.”
The new building is being delivered as part of the $122 million Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration (RAIR) program by the NSW Government, and is being designed with input from local paramedics, with the goal of delivering a better work environment, tailored for the needs of the local community.
Once completed, the Cootamundra ambulance station will include:
– Internal parking for up to four emergency ambulance vehicles
– Administration and office areas
– Staff amenities
– Logistics and storage areas
– Relief accommodation
– Staff parking
– Delivery and loading bay
– External wash bay
“Health Infrastructure, NSW Ambulance, the Murrumbidgee Local Health District along with the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council are all working together to deliver this vital piece of infrastructure for the Cootamundra district.” Ms Cooke said
“To date, 24 upgraded, rebuilt or new regional and rural ambulance stations have been announced across NSW, including completed stations at Coolamon, Ardlethan, Harden Murrumburrah, Cowra and Grenfell in our Electorate”
Main works on the new station is scheduled for completion in early 2021, followed by a fit-out and operational commissioning phase prior to the commencement of operations from the new facility.
