With hundreds of students and teachers heading back to school today around the region, Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke would like to wish everyone all the best for the 2020 school year.

“With 79 schools in the electorate, this week is a busy time for everyone,” she said.

“For those starting off on their first day of Kindergarten, to the Year 12s beginning their final year of school, I am so excited for what 2020 holds for each and every one of you.”

“The hard work of our teachers, principals and support staff, who go above and beyond to help our students reach their full potential, doesn’t go unnoticed and I wish them all the best for this school year as well.”

“School life now is about far more than simply academic learning; around the Cootamundra Electorate schools offer agriculture, sport and creative arts as well as a wide variety of paths in to the workforce. Delivering all this takes a huge amount of dedication and energy and our educators do an incredible job.”

The start of the new school year also means school zones are back in force, so remember to slow down to keep all of our students and staff safe.
