Cowra Hospital Redevelopment Gets Planning Funding In NSW Budget

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has welcomed a $500,000 funding commitment for the Cowra Hospital Redevelopment from the 2020/21 NSW Budget.

The redevelopment will take its next steps thanks to the planning funding announced today by the NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet, progressing the $70.2 million project.

Ms Cooke said she was delighted the next phase of planning can now get underway.

“I have passionately fought for this hospital redevelopment and I am so heartened this funding has been allocated,” Ms Cooke said.

“This next step follows on from work already carried out by Western NSW Local Health District to refresh the Cowra Clinical Services Plan which has helped to identify the future health needs of the Cowra community.”

“This next round of funding enables planning to progress, which will lead to the design and delivery of this redevelopment.”

“The people of the Cowra community deserve a state-of-the-art hospital, 3,706 of them called for it directly by signing my petition which I tabled to parliament and this funding reinforces the NSW Government’s commitment to deliver”

The draft Cowra Clinical Services Plan is currently available for feedback.
