Cowra’s newest playground is open for exploration, combining nature and adventure.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke opened the Cowra Adventure Playground, which has been created within the Cowra Peace Precinct and funded through the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund Round One.

Ms Cooke said the $357,848 project was an investment in Cowra’s youth.

“This is a fantastic place for children and young people to play, explore, perform and grow,” Ms Cooke said.

“It has been a real community effort, including the advice of local Indigenous people on the dance circle, meaning this space is by the people of Cowra, for the people of Cowra.”

“When I was here last May the main feature was the climbing spider, now to see all the new elements including the flying foxes, flood and run space, slides and stumpy crossing, and just how popular they all are with kids, is proof of the hard work of the Committee, Council and contractors.”
