Rehabilitation for Junee Shire Road

Col Davis and Steph Cooke stand on Patterson's road which has damaged edges

The NSW Government’s Fixing Local Roads program is supporting upgrade work in the Junee Shire.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has announced $417,031.02 for rehabilitation work on Pattersons Road.

Ms Cooke said the upgrades would improve road safety.

“Junee Shire is one of the powerhouses of the electorate when it comes to agricultural production and freight, and we have to ensure everyone using our local roads can do so safely,” Ms Cooke said.

“This great project from the Junee Shire Council will ensure Pattersons Road can continue to be a vital connection for both road freight and commuters.”

“I am very pleased the NSW Government is making this investment in to Junee Shire to strengthen this community and improve safety.”

Director Engineering Services at Junee Shire Council Col Davis said the upgrades were important for many communities in the shire.

“Patterson’s Road needs a full rehabilitation; it needs shoulder widening, pavement improvements and has some alignment and tree issues,” Mr Davis said.

“Around 90% of this work is being funded by the NSW Government and we will chip in the rest.”

“Once this work is done this will be an easier passageway through to Wantabadgery and places like that. It will be good for heavy vehicles transporting down to the hub here too.”
