The Morongla Showground will soon have a bore water supply thanks to funding from the NSW Government.
The Showground Stimulus program is supplying a $40,606 grant for the project announced today by the Member for Cootamundra.
This is the second grant from the stimulus program with $12,893 previously announced to replace toilets with water efficient units, paint the interior of the main hall and ceiling of the supper room, replacement of fencing, and surface levelling and compacting around storage shed.
Steph Cooke MP said the upgrades would help all users of the showground.
“Having a secure water supply is vital so events can go ahead,” Ms Cooke said.
“I am so pleased this assistance is coming to Morongla Showground to ensure it is fit for the future and can continue to be enjoyed by both locals and visitors.”
Morongla Showground Land Manager Secretary David Langfield said the funding was a boost for the community.
“Having this bore water is going to be a huge advantage, being able to have a permanent supply on the ground will help us run our events during the year,” Mr Langfield said.
“This funding is terrific and is very unexpected, it’s going to mean more people can use the showground.”
