Education and training in West Wyalong is set to receive an unprecedented boost with a range of in demand courses available locally for the first time through the new multi-million dollar TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre (CLC).

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said the new digitally-enabled CLC in West Wyalong is now taking enrolments for a range of new courses, ahead of its opening early next year.

“The $6.6 million West Wyalong CLC has introduced a number of in-demand courses linked to job outcomes, which will be available to local students from Semester One next year,” Ms Cooke said.

“I’m particularly excited as more than double the number of courses will be available to local students thanks to the CLC, including a Diploma of Community Services, Certificate IV in Human Resources, Diploma of Leadership and Management, and Diploma of Mental Health.

“As a TAFE graduate myself I know firsthand the opportunities an education through this amazing institution can bring. This investment opens up those opportunities for even more people across West Wyalong.”

“I look forward to the official opening of this fantastic facility in 2021.”

Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education Geoff Lee said the CLC is an absolute game changer for local education and training delivery and demonstrates how the NSW Government is delivering for regional parts of the State.

“The NSW Government is investing in TAFE NSW to equip regional students with job-ready skills – and I look forward to seeing local students take advantage of the new and enhanced range of learning and course options in West Wyalong,” Mr Lee said.

CLCs are a key initiative of the NSW Government which offer students access to the latest learning technologies such as simulation and virtual reality, expert teachers both on and off-site and personalised support services.

The West Wyalong CLC will deliver blended, facilitated and online learning – backed up by Mobile Training Units which will provide the practical training TAFE NSW is known for

Semester 1 2021 courses are now open for enrolment or enquiries at www.tafensw.edu.au/clc.
