Enhancements for Ardlethan Preschool

The Member for Cootamundra has announced funding for the Ardlethan Preschool from the Quality Learning Environments (QLE) program.

Steph Cooke awarded a $9,851 grant from the NSW Government which will be used to purchase soft fall mats, a deck and sandpit cover and post protectors.

Ms Cooke said the work was further investment in the future of Ardlethan.

“This fantastic project is the third grant secured for the Ardlethan Preschool and brings the total support of this great facility from the QLE program to $29,621.85 over the last three years,” Ms Cooke said.

“This latest investment will continue to develop the outdoor space at the preschool and give the students and staff more places to play and enjoy, no matter the weather.”

“Congratulations to the preschool on this latest grant and continuing to deliver high quality care and education to your many students.”

Director of the Ardlethan Preschool Fiona Minchin said the funding was a welcome boost.

“We’re really appreciative of this funding, this is the third round of QLE funding we have received. We have been revamping our backyard area for the past 5 years and we’ve been able to tick off some of the big ticket items through this program,” Ms Minchin said.

“This is a small community so it’s hard to fundraise and particularly last year with COVID it was even more difficult, so this has come at a really good time.”

“We’ve been looking at improving safety, at the last funding we put up a shade sail and in this round we are getting pole protectors for that, and these soft fall mats are going to enable us to use our veranda a lot more, meaning we won’t be stuck inside during wet weather.”
