Gooloogong’s Memorial Hall will soon see a fresh coat of paint thanks to support from the NSW Government’s Crown Reserves Improvement Fund.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has awarded a $23,882 grant from the CRIF program for the Gooloogong Memorial Hall Land Manager, to paint the interior and exterior of the hall.

Ms Cooke said the grant would help ensure the hall could continue to be utilised by the community.

“Country halls are the homes of so many of life’s important events, and here in Gooloogong the hall isn’t just a meeting place, but a reminder of the service and sacrifice of the community in times of war,” Ms Cooke said.

“The Gooloogong Hall hosts the Cowra Early Childhood Mobile Service and I was lucky enough to catch up with them while we announced this grant.”

“The Hall is a real community hub and this work will ensure it is in the best shape to be enjoyed by everyone for years to come.”

“This support from the CRIF will enable important work to be undertaken here in Gooloogong, which is a community where a little bit of funding goes a very long way.”

Secretary of the Gooloogong Memorial Hall Land Manager Kylie Reeves said the funding was supporting a much-loved community space.

“It’s been 10 years since we full renovated the hall, and it was starting to look a bit worn out so this coat of paint will spruce it up both inside and out,” Mrs Reeves.

“The hall is so essential to our community, it hosts our mobile preschool, day-care, community nurse and is home to many local events. This will be so appreciated by the community.”

“We are a small community, but a very enthusiastic one and every cent of funding we put to good use. We really appreciate this support for our small community.”

“We will be using local painters for this work, so it’s a boost for local tradies too.”
