Minister Meets With Young Police

Steph Cooke and Minister David Elliott stand with Police Officers at the front of the Young Police Station.

The campaign for a new Police Station for Young continues with the Member for Cootamundra accompanying the Minister for Police and Emergency Services on a tour of the facility this week.

Steph Cooke MP had her request for a visit of the station by Minister David Elliott fulfilled, where he heard first hand from local Officers the need for a new facility.

Ms Cooke said it was vital the Minister understand the need to update the ageing station.

“Fighting for a new Police Station for Young has become my highest priority. Our Police Officers go above and beyond every day in their duties and they deserve to have modern facilities that meet their needs,” Ms Cooke said.

“I thank Minister Elliot for taking the time to look through the Station and speak with our local officers.”

“I will keep pushing on this issue until we have shovels in the ground on a new Station.”
