Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has announced $15,200 for the Quandialla Showground Land Manager under the latest round of the NSW Government’s COVID-19 stimulus program.
Ms Cooke said the funding will be used to replace the boundary fencing at Quandialla Showground.
“I’m pleased to support this project as the current fence is clearly in need of repair, with new fencing right around the showground to provide much better security.
“The newly repaired fence will also mean that the Showgrounds can be let out for agistment, bringing in money to help cover the costs of annual expenses such as electricity and maintenance.
“Showgrounds are the hub for smaller communities like Quandialla, and they require a lot of upkeep, so it is fantastic this project can get underway as a result of the stimulus program.”
Minister for Water, Housing and Property Melinda Pavey said the COVID-19 stimulus program has now allocated $35.77 million to showground upgrades across the state.
“We provided $23.27 million last financial year to support upgrades at 152 showgrounds and now a further $12.5 million has been allocated for this financial year to support more work at 76 showgrounds,” Minister Pavey said.
