The NSW Government is supporting a new solar project at ‘The Peppers’ Senior Housing Units at Ariah Park.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke today announced a $6,968 grant from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program, which will be used to install a 3.96 kW solar system.

Ms Cooke said the investment was helping to future proof the facility.

“This is an innovative project from the Ariah Park – Mirrool Senior Housing Inc which will keep their power costs down, making this great senior living space more affordable,” Ms Cooke said.

“With this assistance from the NSW Government The Peppers will be able to tap in to renewable energy and enhance their great facility. Congratulations to Ariah Park – Mirrool Senior Housing Inc on securing this funding.”

Nigel Judd Chairman said the project would make a huge difference to the units and their residents.

“We’re very excited about this funding, we’ve just done a major expansion at the Peppers and anything we can do to keep our running costs down is very good,” Mr Judd said.

“This means we can keep our rents and charges down which is often the biggest worry with a facility like this.”
