Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke today announced eligible organisations across the Cootamundra electorate could share in $600,000 funding to support multicultural projects across NSW.

It forms part of the NSW Government’s Celebrating Diversity Grants, which will support programs and activities that create networks, connections and opportunities within diverse communities.

“There are so many organisations that play such an important role in our towns to support newcomers and advocate for our varied communities,” Ms Cooke said.

“I urge all eligible community organisations across the Cootamundra electorate to consider applying for a grant of up to $40,000 to support a 12-month project that’ll help bring communities closer and promote social cohesion.”

The NSW Government’s Celebrating Diversity Grants for projects have previously supported multicultural youth engagement programs, seniors, refugee projects and volunteering programs.

This round of grants is running from 1 March 2020 to 28 February 2021.

Applications will close 5pm, Friday 6 December 2019.
