The year is off to a sprinting start, with many bright young faces back at school, ready for another year of learning.
As local families, teachers and support staff settle into Term One, I wish them all the very best in nurturing our students as they continue their journeys in learning throughout 2023.
With the school bus run underway once more, it is fantastic to have announced just under $26 million in additional road repair funding across the nine local government areas of the Cootamundra electorate.
This is on top of a boost to repair potholes late last year, which saw nearly $5 million flow to our local councils. This is crucial support being delivered to our local government areas given the impact of a wet year on the local road network.
This month, we have also welcomed the latest round of Stronger Country Communities Funding across our nine local government areas. Highlights include a refurbishment of Jugiong Pool, a revitalisation of Taylor Park playground at Grenfell, a new playground at Koorawatha Park and Narrandera Water Tower, and upgrades to parks and facilities around Temora and Ariah Park.
Speaking with a constituent recently, they told me just how important playground renewal projects are given it’s an outing with the family which won’t blow the budget. With the rising cost of living, by investing money in making the public spaces in our towns and villages even better and more accessible, it is another way in which we are delivering a brighter future for regional communities.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if there is anything I can do to help. I hope to see you again soon.
