New midweek rail service to Sydney though Narrandera, Coolamon, Junee, Cootamundra and Harden proposed

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke is asking for feedback on a proposed midweek rail service running across the Cootamundra electorate.

The new midweek train service will run between Griffith and Sydney, and is due to start operating later this year.

“We would love to hear from our communities so that we can offer a rail service which meets users’ needs,” Ms Cooke said.

“This rail service provides more travel options between our homes and Sydney, as it runs from Griffith via Narrandera, Coolamon, Junee, Cootamundra and Harden.

“This extra service will provide customers more choice and flexibility to travel by train during the week, whether it be for work, medical appointments, shopping or to visit family and friends.

“We want the Riverina community to get behind this new service, and are inviting them to attend one of the NSW TrainLink information sessions or stalls between February 23 and 27, where they can find out more information and provide feedback on when the train will operate,” Ms Cooke said.

The proposed Griffith to Sydney service would depart either on Thursday or Friday, with the option for a morning or afternoon departure. The Sydney to Griffith service would operate either on Wednesday or Thursday with an early morning or midday departure.

It would complement the existing NSW TrainLink direct train service between Griffith and Sydney, which operates on weekends.

Feedback on the new midweek train service can also be provided via an online survey at transportnsw.info/griffith-new-service, which closes 23 March 2019.
