Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has opened upgrades to the Gloucester Park playground.
The playground upgrades include new play equipment and paths, made possible thanks to two grants from the Stronger Country Communities Fund totalling $186,445, and a $2500 donation from the Quota Club.
Ms Cooke said the investment from the NSW Government had made Gloucester Park an even better place to play.
“These improvements have made this area a safer, more engaging and more accessible place for everyone, and the Temora Shire Council has done a fantastic job in making the most of this funding,” Ms Cooke said.
“This playground is such an asset for both the community and those visiting the region and I am delighted to be able to officially open these upgrades.”
Mayor of Temora Shire Councillor Rick Firman said the investment in to the community had been warmly welcomed.
“The Stronger Country Communities Fund has been a game changer for our community and our Council, we cannot thank Steph and the NSW Government enough,” Cr Firman said.
“These are crucial improvements and we can see lots of families and children using the playground already. There’s such a buzz and it means so much for the community to be together and be outside.”
