Steph Cooke welcomes Matt Felvus to new role with Cowra TAFE

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke today welcomed new TAFE NSW Services Manager Matt Felvus to Cowra TAFE, saying the new recruit will help bolster vocational education and training delivery in the area.

Mr Felvus, who started in the role in early April, is working with TAFE Services Coordinators across Mudgee, Cowra, Bathurst, Lithgow and Grenfell to deliver quality training and education opportunities.

“Mr Felvus brings a wealth of experience in education and I am delighted he has joined the talented group of staff at Cowra TAFE to train our students and give them the skills they need to get a job,” Ms Cooke said.

“By working with students and members of the community, Mr Felvus will help ensure training delivery at Cowra TAFE is aligned with what the community needs.”

Mr Felvus said he is already finding his work at TAFE NSW fulfilling.

“I’m really enjoying the role at TAFE NSW so far, and feel fortunate to be appointed to this position in such a wonderful region like the central west,” Mr Felvus said.

“We have started reaching out to the community and I strongly believe that I can help TAFE NSW in Cowra to deliver the training and educational opportunities that students, industry and the community needs.”

Prior to this role, Mr Felvus worked for the Department of Justice at Macquarie Correctional Centre in Wellington as the Educational Services Coordinator, which involved managing the educational programs component of offenders’ structured days.

Mr Felvus said he was excited at the opportunities which lie ahead.

“It’s a very exciting time for TAFE NSW Cowra and I encourage the community to make the most of the wide variety of training opportunities available to them.”
