Work on Goldfields Way completed on budget, ahead of schedule

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has announced the latest stage of work on Goldfields Way near Barmedman has been completed on budget and ahead of schedule.

Ms Cooke said the $750,000 NSW Government project has provided a stronger, smoother and safer road surface north of Barmedman.

“Road users can now enjoy a new road surface, improved drainage, wider lanes and improved resistance to flooding,” Ms Cooke said.

“This work was part of a larger project which started in 2015 and is being delivered in multiple stages. The end result will see 10 kilometres of road improvements along Goldfields Way,” she added.

“Thanks to a strong partnership between Roads and Maritime Services and Temora Shire Council coupled with perfect autumn conditions, the road improvements, which started in March, have been carried out in record time.”

Ms Cooke added that Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this important road upgrade.
